"The Crone has had a lot of time over the course of her life for introspection. She is finally at peace with herself, with humanity, and with Nature, and is able to fully embrace the roller coaster of life with quiet equilibrium. The Tied to the Moon triptych tells a story of the Moon's connection to us and the Earth, as translated through ancient Celtic spirituality. While the puppet-like quality of the subjects reflects the Moon's influence, the poses illustrate shifting perspectives via three Celtic archetypes: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Together, they represent the complete life cycle." Elisabeth Ladwig

"Tied to the Moon: Crone" depicts a surreal and dreamlike scene. A person with long, dark hair wearing a bright red dress is seated cross-legged in mid-air against a backdrop of layered clouds and a dusky sky. Above the figure, a full moon hangs luminously in the sky, and it is tethered by a thin, white string, as if the moon were a giant balloon. Adding to the ethereal atmosphere, several birds are soaring around the moon. The use of light and shadow, along with the vibrant contrast of the red dress against the muted tones of the sky, creates a striking and otherworldly composition.
