"This piece is pure imagination. But it is drawn from memories of my childhood visits to the Appalachian Mountains, and the hollers and softly moving rivers that create little places of real solitude. Unlike the rolling oceans, or the majestic rivers, or the big lake waters, these small rills, and seeping trails of water bring a sense of solitude that is very healing. Here is the quiet flow of a river that has found a broad bend. Where the mountains step back a pace and give it a bit of elbow room, the water comes to rest and creates a quiet that is a living thing. At night, the stillness is monumental, and includes with it the mountains and the heavens that peek down through the soft rolling hills. And about the title... Henry Mancini and 'Moon River'... Too much???" Constance Patterson

"MANCINI MOON" is a painting depicting a coastal landscape. A large, luminous full moon sits low in the sky, casting a warm glow over the scene. The sky is mostly dark with shades of blue and hints of lighter blue streaks. In the foreground, to the left, there's a white building with a red roof, situated next to what seems to be a dark-green sloping hill. In the middle ground, a body of light-colored water reflects the light from the sky, bordered by dark land on both sides. To the right in the foreground, there are cattails, some showing hints of red color, sticking out of the ground and casting long shadows. The painting uses contrast between light and dark to create depth and indicates a quiet, secluded location. The style showcases a focus on bold colors and dramatic lighting.
