"If you ever watch children run and play, you notice that their joy is completely uninhibited. Fear does not exist. Insecurity does not exist. They throw all of their emotional being into a single experience of elation as the world disappears around them. Do you remember what that's like? It's a rush. Every cell of your body feels it. As adults, however, it gets suppressed. People look at you funny if you act giddy or childlike, as if we're not supposed to feel that way anymore. Maybe we need a lesson. Maybe we need to remove the layer of protective varnish ~ or steel ~ from our hearts and learn how to let loose again, to dance and sing and welcome in moments of joy while we're still here on this beautiful planet." "Lesson" is a whimsical and dream-like artwork featuring a young woman and a rabbit in motion across a pastoral landscape. The woman is captured run, with her pink dress billowing around her. Her blonde hair covers her face, indicating movement, and her bare feet daintily skim the ground as if she's barely touching it. The rabbit nearby is in mid-leap, giving the impression that both are engaged in a playful chase. The setting is a field with variegated green and yellow hues, under a sky filled with soft clouds. Above, birds are soaring, further contributing to the sense of freedom and movement. The atmosphere is nostalgic, suggested by the warm, vintage tones and textures applied to the image.
