VICTORIA PRIMICIAS

About VICTORIA PRIMICIAS
Victoria Primicias creates abstract landscapes that evoke a sense of serenity, openness, and quiet contemplation. Her work explores the emotional connection between landscape, atmosphere, and reflection, drawing on memories of the places she has called home. Born in Manila and raised in Toronto, Victoria developed an appreciation for diverse cultural and visual influences that continue to inform her artistic practice. She holds a BA in Fine Art History from the University of Toronto and pursued further studies in Graphic Design at George Brown College, the Ontario College of Art & Design, and the Art Institute of Chicago. She now lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Working in oil and cold wax on panel, Victoria creates luminous compositions defined by expansive skies, tranquil waters, and distant horizons. Her process involves building layers of paint using drywall spatulas, brayers, and other mark-making tools to achieve rich textures and subtle surface variations. The resulting works balance simplicity and depth, inviting viewers into moments of calm, stillness, and possibility.
Victoria's 25-year career as a graphic designer has profoundly influenced her artistic approach, particularly her sensitivity to composition, restraint, and the power of negative space. These design principles allow her paintings to breathe, creating visual environments that encourage reflection and emotional connection. Her artwork is held in public and private collections throughout the United States, including corporate, healthcare, hospitality, and government settings. Her design work has also been recognized by leading industry publications.
At the heart of Victoria's practice is a desire to create accessible art that resonates with a broad audience. Whether inspired by the warm sunsets of Manila Bay, the moody greys of Lake Ontario, or the tranquil waters of Lake Michigan, her paintings offer a welcome pause from the demands of everyday life, providing a sanctuary of quiet energy, gratitude, and renewal.
