Susan Fleming is a distinguished mixed media artist based in Oak Ridge, North Carolina. Her artwork is signed S Lance Fleming. Known for her vibrant exploration of spirituality, intuition, and emotional healing, her creations take viewers on a transformative journey through subconscious imagery. Utilizing a variety of materials such as pastels, acrylics, watercolor, ink, and digitally altered drawings, she builds rich, layered compositions. Her bold use of color and texture invites viewers into a contemplative space, where personal and collective narratives intertwine to offer quiet discovery and emotional resonance.

Since her relocation from Arizona to the Carolinas, Susan now draws inspiration not only from the lush landscapes surrounding her but also from her cherished memories of Arizona's beautiful terrains, both of which vividly inform her colorful works. Her creative process is deeply intuitive and meditative, allowing each piece to evolve organically without predetermined outcomes. This spontaneous approach encourages serendipitous discoveries, inviting viewers to engage personally and emotionally with her art.

Susan holds a BA and an MA in Visual Arts with a focus on Fine Art Education, which shapes her artistic vision and teaching philosophy. Her extensive career as an art educator has not only fueled her creative endeavors but also inspired countless students to explore their own unique expressions. Her work has been extensively exhibited in juried shows, earning accolades such as Best in Show at the Southern Tier Center for Emerging Artists. Notably, Susan's "Inner Spirit" Solo Show was recently exhibited at the Long Bay Theatre Lobby in Myrtle Beach, SC, and she continues to be a solo artist with the Teravarna International Art Gallery.

Her art is represented through platforms such as Artsy, Artsper, and ArtMajeur via Charity Art Gallery in Sweden. Featured in publications like Stroll The Dunes Magazine (South Carolina) and the curator's choice for several Women United Art Magazines, Susan is also set to be featured in the upcoming "Atlas of Contemporary Women Artists I Vol I: North America," due out in fall 2026.
