Marianne Hicks

About Marianne Hicks
Marianne Hicks is an abstract painter whose journey through art is as dynamic and layered as her canvases. Born in Montreal, Canada, to European parents, Hicks crossed the border at the age of four to settle in the United States, where she has lived in various East Coast cities, including Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. Her artistic foundation was laid at Boston University School of Fine Arts and further honed at the renowned Museum School in Boston. It was during this formative period that Hicks worked alongside the painter Friedel Dzubas, culminating in a show at Meredith Long Gallery in Houston, TX. Despite stepping away from the art world due to life’s challenges, Hicks’s commitment to painting never wavered. She is now re-engaging with the art community, eager to share her evolving vision with a broader audience.
