About Diana Kemp

Diana Kemp, a self-taught artist from Laguna Niguel, California, embarked on her artistic journey in March 2024, driven by a persistent inner voice she believes belonged to her mother, an artist herself. This voice urged Diana to explore the creative life her mother never fully realized. With no formal training or plan, she picked up a brush and surrendered to the process, discovering a profound gift for painting. Over the past two years, she has created more than 140 abstract acrylic and mixed-media paintings.

Kemp approaches each canvas with what she calls automatic painting, an intuitive process that embraces childlike openness. Her work is guided by color, texture, fabric, and raw emotion, allowing each piece to evolve without rules or expectations. Often beginning with what she perceives as mistakes, her creations transform into unexpectedly beautiful works of art. These dreamscapes are tactile, emotional landscapes that express both joy and long-buried feelings, reflecting her journey of healing and self-discovery.

Her artistic journey has been recognized in numerous exhibitions and competitions. Diana is a Finalist in the 2026 Fusion Art Colors Exhibition, the April 2026 LightSpaceTime Abstracts Art Exhibition, and the California Welcome Center - Yucca Valley Art Contest. She has been a jury-selected artist in Abstract Zone 2026 and received a Teravarna Honorable Mention in the 14th Open 2026 Juried Art Competition. Her work has also been featured in the Las Lagunas Online Exhibition for 2026-Vintage Visionary and in the Part Crowd Art Gallery Mixed Media Exhibition, among many others.

Through her brand "Dianakempdreamscapes," Diana Kemp continues to share her unique perspective with the world, aspiring to achieve enduring artistic success. Her journey demonstrates the power of embracing one's passion and trusting the unknown, as she creates art that is both a discovery and a love letter to life itself. Her canvas "Gold Rush," along with "Caravanserai," will be exhibited at the OC Arthouse in Mission Viejo beginning July 25, 2026.
