About Ana Maria Botero

Ana Maria Botero, a contemporary artist originally from Bogota, Colombia, embarked on her artistic journey after earning a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 1990. Following several years of professional engagement in Bogota, she took a significant step by relocating with her family to Florida in 2001.

During her time in Florida, Ana Maria contributed her skills to Vigneault and Hoos Architecture Inc. until 2005, when another move brought her to the picturesque state of Colorado. It was in this scenic setting that she made the pivotal decision to fully commit to her passion for art.

Today, Ana Maria Botero's artistic creations grace the collections of both private enthusiasts and corporate entities, not only in the USA but also in various other countries. This international recognition is a testament to the widespread appeal and admiration for her work.

"Art is a sense to me, it is a way of perceiving, it is an emotional response to the relationship of forms and the magic of the empty space that transcends and creates equilibrium.

I work intuitively and spontaneously, oscillating between abstraction and representation, my background as an architect and my Colombian origins influence my art.

What I search for, what informs my work, is what I need for myself: simplicity, calm, equilibrium. I want each piece to engage viewers yet leave them with their own response and perhaps with a way to re-imagine their world.”
