About Sheila Lynne Neufeld

Sheila Lynne Neufeld, an acclaimed acrylic abstract artist residing in Vancouver, masterfully encapsulates the diverse expressions of nature and the universe's expansiveness through her innovative artwork. Growing up in the vast landscapes of Saskatchewan, Neufeld was profoundly influenced by the majestic sunsets and fierce thunderstorms of her youth. These formative experiences fostered a deep connection to the natural world, which is vividly mirrored in her art and enriched by a lifetime of exploration.

Neufeld's journey to becoming a full-time artist involved a pivotal shift in her educational focus. Initially pursuing Kinesiology, she chose to follow her passion for art by enrolling in the Fine Arts Diploma Program at Langara College in Vancouver. Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s evocative flower paintings, Neufeld committed herself to painting as her vocation. Her breakthrough came with a successful debut at a Vancouver Design Show, where she sold nearly her entire collection in three days, cementing her dedication to an artistic career.

Her unique artistic style is marked by abstract portrayals of nature and the cosmos, utilizing a blend of materials that include acrylics, textures, iridescent pigments, and natural and Swarovski crystals. These elements create compositions that shimmer with depth and evoke the twinkling of stars. Neufeld's notable series, "Creation" and "Universe and Dreamscapes," invite viewers to experience the interconnectedness and boundless beauty of life through her signature use of light and texture.

Neufeld's work has been featured in renowned venues such as Science World in Vancouver, Art Expo New York, and more recently, Crystalworks Gallery in Vancouver. Her art continues to evolve, inspired by travels to diverse locations, including the Arctic, Antarctic, and the Galapagos in 2025. Neufeld aims to expand her artistic reach, aspiring to fill homes and businesses across Canada, the USA, and beyond, while sharing her unique interpretation of the world and instilling a sense of wonder in every space her art inhabits.
