About Sandra Bryant

Sandra Bryant is an accomplished artist whose creative journey weaves through the vibrant landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and the rich cultural tapestry of her Italian heritage. Born in Washington State in 1959 and raised on a serene farm, Sandra's formative years were spent amid the natural beauty of the countryside, which would later become a significant influence on her artistic vision. Her upbringing, marked by the dual cultural influences of her Italian mother and American father, imbued her with a unique perspective that she continues to explore through her art.

Sandra's path to becoming a full-time artist was not a direct one. Despite her early passion for drawing and painting, a career in art seemed impractical during her youth, leading her to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant. However, her creative spirit remained undeterred. Throughout her years in accounting, Sandra seized every opportunity to nurture her artistic skills, attending workshops and classes to hone her craft. It was not until her mid-40s that she and her husband, Carl, embarked on a shared artistic venture in mosaic art, where she pioneered a painterly style that captured the intricate beauty of the medium.

Over two decades, Sandra and Carl created over 350 small mosaic pieces and more than 30 large public art murals, leaving an indelible mark across the United States. Her mosaic work, celebrated in exhibitions and publications like American Artist Magazine, reflects a meticulous understanding of composition and color theory. Yet, Sandra's artistic evolution did not end there; she has gradually transitioned to oil painting, embracing the immediacy and expressive potential of the medium. Her paintings, often inspired by her travels in Europe and the natural landscapes of her childhood, are a testament to her fascination with light and shadow and her ability to convey the emotional resonance of a moment.

Sandra Bryant's work is deeply influenced by artists such as Rockwell Kent and Vincent Van Gogh, whose ability to evoke feeling through painting resonates with her own artistic aspirations. Now focusing exclusively on oil painting, Sandra continues to capture the beauty of both the rural and the human experience, striving to grow as an artist with every brushstroke. Her journey from mosaic to painting represents not only a transition of medium but a broader exploration of artistic expression, driven by a lifelong passion to create and share her unique perspective with the world.
