Inspired by the Anemone - The Anemone has a natural response of closing at night and opening in the morning as if in anticipation of the first spread of color across the sky or a breath of warmth on its petals. The first light of day is my favorite time to pause and reflect on the day ahead and to gratefully cherish the possibilities. "At First Light" is a three-dimensional sculpture of a seated female figure. The subject is depicted in a thoughtful pose, her chin resting on her hand with her gaze directed downwards. She is seated elegantly, with one leg folded beneath her and the other draped off to the side, the foot gently touching the ground. The figure is wearing a flowing, white gown that resembles the petals of an anemone flower, giving a sense of softness and movement to the otherwise static medium.
