Patrice DeLorenzo, an accomplished artist based in Durango, Colorado, is celebrated for her evocative depictions of the natural world. Her journey into art began in her teenage years, when a fascination with drawing transformed into a lifelong passion. Initially aspiring to enter the medical field, Patrice found her true calling in the arts, a path marked by both personal and professional growth. Her work, described as "Southwest Impressionism," captures the delicate balance between vibrant color and gentle nuance, inviting viewers into a serene visual dialogue with nature.

DeLorenzo's artistic practice is deeply intertwined with her love for the landscapes and flora surrounding her. Her paintings, primarily executed in heavy-body acrylics on stretched canvas, are characterized by a harmonious blend of expressive brushwork and tender, soft strokes. This duality reflects her intuitive approach to color and form, where saturated, bright passages coexist with more subtle tones. Educationally grounded with a BFA in Drawing & Painting from Southeastern Massachusetts University and an MFA in Painting from Southern Illinois University, Patrice has shared her expertise through teaching since 1989. Her career includes the development of unique workshops that integrate creative practices with holistic approaches, such as EFT Tapping and Meditation. Patrice’s dedication to nurturing artistic talent is evident in her students' successes and the transformative experiences they gain under her guidance.

As an artist, Patrice continues to engage with her community through exhibitions and commissions. Her work has been featured in numerous galleries from Boston to Durango, and she has received multiple accolades, including a recent invitation to represent the 2024 Music in the Mountains Classical Music Festival. Driven by a desire to support fellow artists, Patrice aspires to establish scholarships for female artists, fostering a new generation of creators.
