Lynn Welker, a distinguished abstract artist based in Newport Beach, California, masterfully blends elements of nature and design to craft paintings that transport viewers to imaginative landscapes. Raised in Ohio, Lynn's educational journey began at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her BFA and BS in Education. Her pursuit of artistic excellence continued in California, where she completed her MA while dedicating two decades to public education.

Welker's artistic process is characterized by spontaneity and intuition. Rather than adhering to premeditated compositions, she allows her paintings to evolve organically, drawing inspiration from nature's transient beauty and the effects of time and erosion. Her use of fluid acrylic paints and inks applied with flat brushes enables her to juxtapose geometric shapes with organic forms, creating a striking contrast that captivates and surprises. In her own words, Lynn aims to make viewers "comfortable with being uncomfortable," challenging them to perceive the hidden intricacies of nature in a new and thought-provoking way.

As a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and the International Society of Experimental Artists, her contributions to the art world have been widely recognized. Her paintings have also been showcased in respected venues such as the NWS/RSW International Exchange in Edinburgh and the Sasse Museum Group Show.

Despite the demands of raising a family and a rewarding teaching career, Lynn Welker's passion for art never waned. Now fully immersed in her creative endeavors, she treasures each day spent in her studio, continually striving for excellence and individuality in her work. Her goal remains to momentarily divert attention from the technology-driven world, reconnecting people with the richness and serenity found in the unexplored realms of her artistic imagination.
