“'There ain’t no troubles that we can’t rise above, with a handful of faith and a heart full of love.' – Tim McGraw
Life can be difficult walking through the desert times of our lives. We all go through them…illness, job loss, relational tensions, or the loss of a loved one, yet they will not go on forever. We have hope that this too is a season, one that will give way into another. When have we learned the most, been stretched and grown the most? For me it is within the desert seasons. There is goodness that can be gained from experiencing these seasons, always something to be thankful for and often much more than we realize until we can turn around and look back. A handful of faith and a heart full of love will certainly lead us to rise above as in the quote from Tim. I am reminded of Ecclesiastes and a time for everything under the sun. Spring always comes, her beauty reaching high up into the heavens cannot be contained. Love and beauty and faith conquering all." Lucy Dickens
"Rise Above" is a detailed painting of a prickly pear cactus with vibrant red and orange blossoms. The rich, eye-catching flowers bloom at various stages, from buds to full blossoms, atop the green segments of the cactus. The cactus pads are dotted with small clusters of spines. Subtle shading gives a sense of volume and depth to the plant. The background is a muted blue sky above and a hint of desert landscape below, placing the cactus in its natural habitat without distracting from the focal point of the colorful flowers.
