About Lu Ross

Lu Ross, based in Laguna Niguel, California, is celebrated for her unique integration of photography and digital artistry, capturing the intricate interplay of light and color in nature. Originally from Santiago, Chile, Ross's upbringing in a French-Italian family fueled her love for travel and the arts. Her formative experiences by the sea and in the Andes Mountains instilled a profound appreciation for the natural world, which continues to inspire her artistic vision. Ross’s work is a visual homage to the sacredness of nature, offering viewers a chance to experience beauty, peace, and emotional depth.

Drawing inspiration from Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism, her artistic style seamlessly blends representational and abstract forms, shaped by her passion for travel and the diverse landscapes she encounters. Whether exploring vast wildernesses or urban textures, Ross uses digital photography to capture ethereal moments, particularly at dawn and dusk, when light and color are at their most vibrant. Through careful post-processing, she transforms these moments into art that emphasizes life's subtle details and dynamic contrasts.

Ross's technical and artistic development began with a B.A. in Mathematics, Statistics, and Web Design from the Universidad Católica de Chile, which laid a foundation for her design sensibilities and methodical approach to art. Her skills were further honed through studies at the New York Institute of Photography and workshops with distinguished artists such as Art Wolfe, Monte Zucker, Eddie Tapp, Colin Smith, and Mike Moats. This diverse training has enabled her to master techniques that reveal both the grandeur of nature and its hidden beauties.

Her work has been exhibited internationally at numerous prestigious venues, including ArtExpo New York; Palazzo Mora during the Venice Biennale in Italy (Latin Blood – Personal Structures); Art Shopping at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris; and the Crocker Art Museum (Permanent Collection) in California. Additional exhibitions include the Wildling Museum of Art & Nature, Desert Light Gallery as Artist-in-Residence for the Mojave National Preserve Artists Foundation, Alice-Rice Gallery and Quorum Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, Art-A-Fair Fine Art Festival in Laguna Beach, Art San Diego Contemporary Art Show, and currently at Dana Bay Gallery in Dana Point, California. Ross aims to continue exhibiting her work internationally, sharing art that conveys love, peace, and joy—qualities the world needs now more than ever. Through these exhibitions, she hopes to inspire deeper connections with nature, foster healing, and offer viewers a sense of renewal and hope that transcends cultural and geographic boundaries.
