Lois Kilberg, an accomplished watercolor artist based in Hudson, New Hampshire, invites viewers into the serene beauty of the natural world through her art. Her work captures the essence of realism, inspired by the landscapes she encounters during her walks around local areas and the seacoast. With a refined technique that employs only three paint colors analogous to Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, Kilberg masterfully layers transparent washes to create a vibrant spectrum of hues, giving life to her subjects on paper.

Her artistic journey is as diverse as it is inspiring. Raised in a musical household, Kilberg initially pursued a BA in Music Composition from Wheaton College, Illinois. Her career path led her into the realm of technology with a focus on user design. However, during a challenging period, she rediscovered her passion for visual arts—a passion that blossomed into a dedicated pursuit of watercolor realism. Kilberg honed her skills under the tutelage of renowned watercolorist Jane Goldman and earned an Illustration Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Kilberg's art has been showcased in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including juried shows with the New England Watercolor Society and venues such as The Brush Gallery in Lowell, Massachusetts, the North Shore Arts Association, and the Newburyport Art Association. Her work has not only been sought after for commissions but has also been featured in public art projects like the Iron Rangers at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, Massachusetts, and published in several children's books, cementing her reputation as a versatile and impactful artist.

In addition to her painting, Kilberg explores the artistic potential of layering through other mediums, such as creating handmade 3D topographic maps. Her long-term aspiration is to achieve a sustainable art practice that allows her to dedicate more time to painting, further enriching her visual storytelling.
