About Lisa Couper

Lisa Couper, an accomplished artist based in Chino Valley, Arizona, draws upon a rich tapestry of experiences and inspirations to create her evocative works of art. Born and raised in a small agricultural town on the central coast of California, Lisa's early life was immersed in the natural beauty of redwood forests and the rugged Pacific Ocean. Her childhood love for the outdoors and horses has been a lasting influence, shaping the themes of her artwork today.

Lisa's formal studies culminated in a Master’s degree in Art History. It was later in life that she discovered her passion for creating art. Her compositions often reflect the Impressionists' love of light and the Post-Impressionists' vibrant use of color, capturing the serene solitude she finds in nature.

Lisa primarily focuses on landscapes and the majestic form of horses, depicting them free from human interference to allow the natural world to speak for itself. Using oil paints with brushes and palette knives, she creates scenes that evoke a sense of timelessness and peace. Her dedication to her craft has earned her accolades, including a Best of Show at the Mountain Artists Guild in Prescott, Arizona, and recognition from the Northern California Pastel Society.

Today, Lisa paints daily, driven by her desire to share her perspective of the natural world.
