About Jennifer Love
Jennifer Love, a vibrant force in contemporary watercolor painting, weaves her life experiences and the diverse landscapes of her upbringing into her work. Born in Newport Beach, California, and raised amidst the stunning scenery of northern Utah, Jennifer's artistic journey began with a love for ballet, which gradually evolved into a passion for the visual arts. This transition allowed her to express movement and emotion on canvas, sparked by an influential eighth-grade art teacher.
Jennifer's academic journey reflects her multifaceted talents and interests. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a Minor in Spanish and a Teaching Minor in Fine Arts from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. She furthered her education with a Master of Professional Communications degree, equipping her to bridge the artistic and business worlds seamlessly. Under the mentorship of esteemed artists such as Don Doxey and Lester Lee, she honed her skills and developed a distinctive style that combines impressionistic and representational elements, characterized by the vibrant, saturated colors uncommon in watercolor.
Her creative process is both innovative and expressive, utilizing techniques like wet-in-wet and drybrush. Jennifer's distinctive approach often involves weaving cut sections of her paintings to create intricate textures and dynamic movement. Nature serves as her primary muse, with her work celebrating the vivid hues of spring and summer and the delicate beauty of flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies. She frequently incorporates metallic and iridescent paints to capture the interplay of light and color.
Beyond her studio, Jennifer is deeply committed to her community and the causes she supports. As a Past President and Signature Member of the Utah Watercolor Society, she has received numerous accolades, with her work featured in esteemed exhibitions and publications. Her dedication to teaching, particularly for adults over 55, underscores her belief in art as a lifelong journey. Jennifer channels a portion of her art sales to support Parkinson's Disease research and Monarch conservation, making her creative journey as much about giving back as it is about personal expression. Through her art, Jennifer cultivates a life filled with purpose, beauty, and joy, leaving a lasting impact on her community and beyond.
