"I love circles and spheres and I love sculpting hands. Hands are powerful symbols. Circles and spheres represent continuum and space, while hands represent for me, humanity. The open hand represents a willingness to receive – an open mind. The clasped hand denotes unity and togetherness. As an artist who wants to make a difference in this world, it is my most fervent hope and prayer that we as a society can move forward from this space in time, towards a much more positive, peaceful path! History has taught us all too well the consequences of unresolved conflict, both personally and globally. May this circle of open and clasped hands be a constant reminder of our full and unlimited potential and humanity’s enlightened continuum." Gary Lee Price

The "Hands of Humanity" sculpture is of a circular form with an open center, comprised of a series of human hands connected at the wrists. The hands exhibit a dynamic range of gestures and positions, creating an intricate weave that suggests unity and continuity. The sculpture has a stylized texture, giving it a tactile quality, and the entire piece rests upon a solid, square base which provides stability to the circular arrangement of intertwined hands above. The artwork conveys a message of togetherness or solidarity, representing the strength found in unity and the interconnectivity of human beings.
