A friend once said to me, a few months before the birth of her first child, "This pregnancy has given me a severe case of the 'I don't give a ****s'." I laughed, and could only imagine how freeing the surrender must have been for her. The Tied to the Moon triptych tells a story of the Moon's connection to us and the Earth, as translated through ancient Celtic spirituality. While the puppet-like quality of the subjects reflects the Moon's influence, the poses illustrate shifting perspectives via three Celtic archetypes: Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Together, they represent the complete life cycle. Note: This artwork was part of a digital display at the Louvre for the Fifth Annual Exposure Award exhibition.
