"Each year, after the final frost, I am eager to check on our apple trees. From leaf to bud to flower to fruit, the progression of our three trees is framed by the three seasons to come, ending in a long-awaited harvest of Fuji, Golden Delicious, and Gala apples. But they can’t do it alone. These species bloom around the same time, allowing for cross-pollination. They need each other to bear fruit. It’s inspiring to think about the ways in which the elements of our lives cross-pollinate ~ people, experiences, ideas ~ and how they influence each other. We might discover elements that support us, and we can release those that do not. It’s an opportunity to play with that balance, and to discern, through trial and error, what nourishes us, both for the short term and for the long term, and puts us on a path to success. What connections encourage you to thrive?" Elisabeth Ladwig

"Gala" displays a surreal and whimsical scene. At the center, there is a figure that is dressed in natural elements. The person's torso is decorated with a cascade of white and pink blossoms that blend into the figure's form, creating a visual metaphor for a connection with nature. A large green leaf stands vertically behind the figure. The figure's head is concealed by a single, oversized white flower, with petals that fan out across the face. The hair is a shade of pink, complementing the natural tones of the scene. At the bottom of the image, scattered on the grass, there are several fallen apples and flower blossoms, which further blur the lines between the figure and the flora, showcasing a seasonal cycle. A small chipmunk is visible at the right corner at the base of the figure, adding a touch of life and enhancing the overall fantastical atmosphere of this composite scene. The background is a soft, muted combination of cloudy skies and distant horizon, contributing to the dreamlike quality of the image.
