In the Winter, when everything is bare, the evergreens remind us that the Earth is still alive. They symbolize hope, protection, security, growth. When I feel stripped bare ~ overworked, overwhelmed, or just plain exhausted ~ I have to force myself to slow down, to take a moment and just watch the snow float peacefully to the Earth. It's about letting things happen instead of trying to control everything. It's about rest and renewal in order to move forward with grace and Zen. It's a cozy warm blanket of evergreens. "You'll feel better in the morning," my mother always said. Sleep sweet.
