About Anne Nye
Anne Nye, an accomplished artist based in Florence, Arizona, is renowned for her vibrant use of color in both her landscapes and floral artworks. Born in Idaho's picturesque Sun Valley, Anne's deep connection to nature is a constant source of inspiration, infusing her work with the beauty and vitality of the outdoors. Her transition from a 30-year career in graphic design to full-time artistry in 2000 marked the beginning of a dynamic journey defined by her commitment to color and creativity.
Anne's artistic practice spans painting and glass art, where her bold color palettes bring life to her subjects. Originally starting as an oil painter, she temporarily switched to acrylics before returning to oils, while also self-teaching herself the intricacies of glass art. Her innovative technique involves using bull’s-eye 90 COE glass with multiple firings to achieve a distinctive matte finish, creating pieces that captivate viewers with their tactile allure and vibrant hues.
Co-founding the Blue Pomegranate Gallery in Omaha, Anne spent a decade building a successful platform for her work. Her art has been celebrated at various festivals, earning her accolades and recognition. Although she has taught glass art internationally, Anne now focuses on producing unique pieces that highlight her signature use of color. Collaborations with Artful Home and past associations with galleries like Kittrell Riffkind in Dallas have solidified her role in the contemporary art scene.
Now residing with her dog, Ezra, in the Arizona desert, Anne continues to explore new artistic horizons. Her work aims to evoke joy and connection through its vivid colors and engaging themes. As she moves forward, Anne seeks gallery partnerships that align with her vision, allowing her to focus on creating art that resonates with her vibrant style and artistic passion.
